Let me introduce myself.

Hi, I’m Liz Tolevski.

Lover of champagne. Collector of words. Reader of books, and an indie author.

This past year has been an absolute whirlwind. I released my debut novel, Tethered Feather, handed in the manuscript for my second novel Unbound Wings, have started plotting the third and final book in the series called, Frayed Fibers, and experienced more than a few moments of ‘oh my…’, followed ‘I can’t do this, and yet here I am’.

And now let’s get the formal things out of the way…

I hold a Bachelor of Nursing and have over twenty years of experience as a perioperative nurse, specialising in orthopaedic and spinal surgery. I also earned a Bachelor of Arts with majors in English and Creative Writing, further honing my craft through my Honours in Creative Writing.

Tethered Feather was born during the quiet introspection of the COVID-19 lockdown, allowing me to weave the lives of Kara and Val together. The sequel, Unbound Wings, has gone to edit, and I am currently working on the third and final book in The Tethered Series, called Frayed Fibres. 

I balance my literary passion with family life. As a wife and devoted mother of two, I live in Melbourne, alongside my toy poodle, Lois and my bordoodle, Robin, who provide endless entertainment. I hope my work resonates with anyone who has navigated the intricacies of love, loss and the everyday moments that define our existence.

TETHERED FEATHER 

Kara Collins is a master manipulator.

For years, she built walls around her heart after her mother’s family vanished and her father abandoned her.

Now an adult, she plays games with strangers to avoid genuine connections. That is, until she has a chance encounter with the enigmatic Valerio Kavalenko at New Gold Mountain. Val refuses to play games and cracks her persona, leading her to confront her damaged past and uncover family secrets.

With her friend Michael growing suspicious of Val and therapy sessions revealing painful truths, Kara stands at a crossroads. In a world where the truth is dangerous and trust is rare, Kara must decide if she can break free from the shadows of her past.

Can she truly change the patterns established in childhood?

Or will the web of secrets surrounding her family ultimately prove inescapable?

Choice was always an option, at least Kara thought it was.

I’ve just sent my second manuscript Unbound Wings off for a structural edit, and while that's in motion, I'm deep in the planning stages of the third and final book in The Tethered Series, titled Frayed Fibres.

I’m excited to share the ups, downs, and everything in between when it comes to writing, especially the wild ride of navigating manuscripts as an independent author. I’ll also be here to answer any questions you have about my books along the way.

Unbound Wings is the sequel to Tethered Feather and should not be read as a standalone book. I highly recommend you read Book One first.
